Silessa was a pseudo-familiar sithican asp that had been transformed into a beautiful elf by the wizard Sarlandril 
using the spell Create Faux Henchman, cast from a scroll. Subsequently, she fled his company and took shelter with Carnival. At some point Sarlandril comes to the Carnival to take his revenge on Silessa. He undoes the magic that made her and she is reduced once more, at very least in form, to a sithican asp. Isolde intervenes, however, and through a masterful slackening of her hold over the Twisting restores to Silessa an elven form.
