The Tyrahgaunt Text[1] is a Vaasi history of sorcery that was consulted by S in preparing her report on Forlorn for Azalin. It is known to include an account of the origin of the goblyn race, maintaining that the archmagi Yrym-Sybarr created the goblyn from "the dust of a stone from the stars and the green clay that lyveth and the stolen essences of slaves and crymynals and ways secret and the formula of Zetter-Roath." Yrym-Sybarr is recorded to have observed upon the completion of his endeavour, "Y have succeeded at the makying of a new race. Though the race ys only goblyns, they obey my whyms and delyght yn and desyre only wyckedness." The work was penned in a dialect of Draconic that spurned the use of the letter "i" and from it comes the word "goblyn".
