The Stupa of the West is a circular mound built from bricks and stone surrounded by eight pillars. It was constructed directly west of Pakat, close to what is now the Misty Border. Ostensibly it is the burial mound of some long-forgotten raja in Sri Raji's distant past. Various rajas of Pakat have claimed that their ancestor is buried beneath the mound, but none have offered proof in support of such claims.[1]
