Cosmonomicon

Origins

Currently more a collection of loose sheets of vellum, paper and parchment held in a folder, rather than a proper book, the Cosmonomicon is the latest project of alchemist, scientist and polymath Julio Huevo, one which combines several of his fields of study.

The book started out as a comparison of various cosmologies, including the Lamordian Weltaulkügel, held up to observational evidence collected by the scientific community during of both the Core and various Clusters and Islands regarding the Grand Conjunction and the Requiem. Dr. Huevo applied his knowledge of philosophy to analyze commonalities between the various models, then subjected these commonalities to hard science, especially principles of physics and mathematics.

When his analysis actually allowed Dr. Huevo to distill what he called 'a theoretical framework of reality', he started developing new formulae to refine his analysis and prove or disprove the validity of his theories. As he is not as closed-minded as some scientists, he has been happily corresponding and consulting with fellow alchemists, various other scientists as well as numerous spellcasters to gather more data and help him refine the formulae he is using to check the validity of his theories.

Dread Possibilities

While to Dr. Huevo the Cosmonomicon is simply a 'pet' project he is researching for his own satisfaction, the book has potential to cause a great amount of trouble. If the book is closer to explaining the Truth of Reality in the Demiplane of Dread than preceding works on the subject, it may draw the ire of such groups as the Syndicate of Enlightened Citizens, the avarice of such entities as Azalin Rex or the Fraternity of Shadows, or even the interest of the Dark Powers themselves. Alternatively, its delving into the theoretical structure of reality might make it a potent source of various new spells, or alchemical formulae...
