The Ufrugtbarlan ("Barren Lands") are that part of the Ensommark ("Lonely Plain") of eastern Hazlan that are located north of the Saniset River. They are divided north to south by the Genspejle ("Mirror River"), flowing from the frontier with Nova Vaasa to Sly-Var where it joins the Saniset. At their northeast limit, close to the Nova Vaasan frontier, rises the feared and shunned Høj i den Safdrede Sti-Naavne ("Hill of the Paths").
