The Lovers' Curse is a curse laid upon Sean Mako and his lover Alice the mermaid after Sean cried out for a fin so he could be with his lover away from persecution. They are now both cursed to become a wereshark and a Greater Sea Wolf, respectively, when the other is not so transformed. They cannot change their forms voluntarily, all but preventing them from ever seeing each other again.[1]
