In this dread possibility[1], Colin Graben's reanimation after the 737 massacre was not motivated by self-will, rather, it was a curse he received from Brynna Graben for Colin's murder of her family. Unknown to Colin, Brynna was a redhead of Forfarian descent. She put the following curse on Colin:
"True love, family, a child quickened, yet not to live! Life and beauty, hope and hearth! Taken, all taken … and taken for naught by you! Taken from you then, by Arawn's Maw, if there be justice: taken, that you might taste the consequences of your wrongdoing!"
All of the curse has been fulfilled, save for losing his love. As a callous hedonist, he has never given true love. Thus, the fulfillment of the curse has not come to fruition, and Colin has yet to be released by its completion (if it ever will happen.)
