The Lovers' Curse is a curse laid upon Sean Mako and his lover Alice the mermaid after Sean cried out for fins so he could be with his lover away from persecution. They are now both cursed to become a wereshark and a Greater Sea Wolf, respectively, when the other is not so transformed. They cannot change their forms voluntarily, all but preventing them from ever seeing each other again.[1]
