Hammerlin is a port city in the Great Kingdom of Avonleigh with a nearby fortification. During the Heretical Wars, Lady Kateri Shadowborn and her troops were encamped there when they were ambushed by Lysander Greylocks and the troops of the Southern Empire. Most of Lady Shadowborn's knights were killed, but a handful of them were captured and tortured. Kateri Shadowborn eventually gathered a few survivors and escaped.^[1]
