Count Lothar is the conniving brother of King Drosselbart and uncle to Princess Rosenbriar. If anything good has come of Queen Avarein's insidious rise to power, it is that Count Lothar's influence over the Kingdom of Fairhafen has lessened. He tried to get the nobility to ally with him against her, but she discovered his plot and took his son hostage to dissuade him. For the moment, his hands are tied. However, he seeks adventurers to go in and kill both Queen Avarein and Princess Rosenbriar and rescue his son.[1]
