Reanimate, also known as the Life Spell, was created by Azalin for use by Ladislas Sintesti. It was used as a plot point with the Ebon Fold in the Death Unchained module. It was basically an Arcane Spell version of Raise Dead[1]
In 3rd Edition, the spell was changed (and renamed to "Reanimate" instead of "Life") such that it reanimates the target as a construct, unable of healing wounds through the various Cure Wounds spells and unable to gain experience points. In addition, it causes a Madness Save that brings the target closer to Chaotic Evil alignment if failed in addition to any normal madness effects.[2]
