In 633 BC, Meredoth became a Baron of Norvold and was granted rulership of the island Todstein on the world of Mystara in the Alphatian Empire. It was a position he took under the assumption he would receive the proper isolation for his experiments. However, truth would play out differently. After two years of bitter winter in 635 BC, the moaning of peasants brought Meredoth to poison them all to death and then reanimated them as undead. This drew Meredoth and Todstein (or a version of Todstein) as part of the seminal event that created Nebligtode.[1]
