==Appearance==
Images of ''Professeur Desmode'' show her as a slender young woman who wears a half-mask, resembling the face of an old man. Her hair is white as the full moon, and she wears black robes over a form-fitting outfit of dark blue silk. The ''Loa'' is sometimes portrayed as a great bat, wearing the same half-mask, or else as a half-woman half-bat creature combining the best traits of both.

==Inspiration==
''Professeur Desmode'' appears to be a conflation of [[Laurie Weathermay-Foxgrove|Laurie]] and [[Gennifer Weathermay-Foxgrove]], with perhaps a smidgeon of [[Rudolph van Richten]] thrown into the mix - or at least his remembrance - in the form of the ''Loa'''s mask.
