The next day you head out looking for a bear. About 9:00 AM your ranger picks up large bear tracks.

Tirso looks up from the tracks and smiles. "Our bear is a big boy! Get yourselves ready."

"A big bear? There's a bear that isn't big?" asked Grimm as he drew two knives. (curse no two weapon fighting!) "I'll try to stay hidden in the brush just like last time."

Grimm started to head off into the brush just far enough way that it was hard to see him but not far enough to where he couldn't see the party.

Tirso laughs.

"You jest Grimm? There are bears that are large in comparison to other bears. Are there not? I prefer not to tangle with even the "small" ones of course. This bear we track is big even for a bear. I don't think any of us want to get too close. We need to be smart about this.
With the badgers we got lucky."

Boiros nods.

"I agree with Tirso, we need to outsmart it. We can set a trap and attack from distance. Maybe dig a pit and put some food as bait so when it goes to get the food it falls in the pit. Or we can use nets to immobilize it."

Tirso says: "All very good ideas Boiros. So what will it be friends? I'm partial to digging a pit, but it will probably take at least a day."

"Well yes digging the pit maybe will take a day but is more safe, the bear might break free from the nets or we might miss it. But if you think that we have better chances with the nets I will be glad to help you with that as well. Does anyone know how to make a net or maybe we can borrow them from the villagers. What do you think?"

Tiso smiles and says: "Get me a shovel."

You dig the trap in a few hours then a few hours later it falls in and you kill it as you have ranged attacks and it can't get out of the trap. It isn't exactly difficult for a human to outsmart a bear. :)

Percy is astonished at how easy it was to catch the ursine beast. "I, uh, um, c-can I keep teeth or claws, please? Can st-t-ar-t-t a c-c-oo-o-lection. I didn't th-think it wou-ould be th-th at easy either."

"Indeed, I guess not every bear can be as smart as the one in the circus! Big Ben is truly extraordinary!" exclaims Grimm knowing now the hard part was going to be getting the bear out of the hole. "Any ideas on how to get the bear out of the hole?"

Boiros smiles at the result.

"This was an exceptional job guys, congrats to all."

Turning to Percy Boiros says:

"You can get any part you need Percy, but better do that after the ritual."

Turning to Grimm he says:

"To get it out is simple one of us, I suggest you Grimm, will go down there with a rope and then use the same rope to tie the bear. Me and Tirso will get it up here. Except of course if Percy has any spell that can help up."

"Perhaps a little leverage with tree branches? Pulling the bear straight out of the hole might be a little difficult dragging it along the side of the hole's wall...." said Grimm not entirely convinced but willing to work a little of his 'magic' to make it happen with the tools they had. When given a rope he'll toss it around some sturdy looking tree branches give the rope end either to someone to hold it or tie it to a tree base before climbing down to get to the bear and try to tie up the bear so they can begin to pull it up.

Tirso suggests: "We could also try to skin it in the hole."
