Hey there,

Recently released is a fairly large (about 10h playing time) adventure for the Neverwinter Nights 2 video game taking place in Ravenloft called Misery Stone. It can be downloaded at the Neverwinter Nights Vault.

I thought those of you who play NWN2 would like to know. I haven't played it very much yet, but so far it is quite atmospheric and creepy, and tends to hit the right notes for a Ravenloft adventure. So go get it. It's free. And you hook up with a very scantily clad Vistani early on. That's all the endorsement you need.

I downloaded it, but I can't get started. What am I missing on the very first screen? It says my character sheet is on the table, select it to get a level appropriate amount of gold. I'm not finding it, where is it? I only see the Arms & Equipment Guide (= initial store), the Dice to start the game, and a bottle of Mountain Dew. I need cash to buy anything, I selected a stock 1st level Ranger character with no possessions to start.

It's still not working for me, I created a new character in the Main Game and exported it after playing it up to 6th level to get past my previous problem. Now, in the Misery Stone start-up room, you are supposed to use the dice to start playing, I get popped out of the game entirely instead.

Don't know what to tell you, Jim. I haven't had any problems running it. I imported my 10th level Pool of Radiance Reloaded character, clicked on the dice, and I was ready to go.

Are you sure your NWN2 is fully updated? Also, the module requires both expansions to run, especially Storm of Zehir, as it uses an overland map for travel.

OK, that's it then, I only have NWN2, not the two expansions. Off to ebay I go, I'll give Misery Stone another try in a month or two. Thanks for the tip.
