Looks like it's prequel time for the Underworld franchise. Now we get to see exactly how the young Lucian grew up to become Darth... wait. I mean, how he fell in love with a hot vampire chick and started the whole war between his people and hers in a failed Romeo-Juliet thing. It's true, NEVER sleep with the bosses' daughter!

I know when the first sequel came out, some of us mentioned we had been hoping for it to show the backstory/history of the setting, well, better late than never.

Looks like a decent action flick, I'll probably make time to see it.

Amazing how much werewolf hair-rendering CGI has advanced in the last five years. The werewolves in the first movie were distressingly mangy-looking. Why even bother featuring werewolves in your movie if you can't give them a proper coat of hair? Nobody wants to look at bald werewolves.

Hair and fur are still the toughest work for CGI-- complex textures that scatter light in not-so-easy-to-predict ways, and if the hair/fur's long enough to *move* that opens up a whole 'nother can of worms.

After disliking the first 2 in the series so much I was amazed that I admitted that Rise of the Lycans wasn;t to bad, lol. Then again, the acting was alot better without Beckinsale, hehehe.

Yeah, didn't she only get the part in the first film because she was the director's girlfriend or wife?

I guess I'm on the opposite end. I only saw the 3rd movie and found it pretty bad to my tastes, so I don't have any drive to see the other two.
If you tell me this was the best, then I guess I'm settled.

Either that or the other way around. I had thought they started dating and married after that movie, but I could be wrong.
