Since Dr Ed was too modest to start a thread for comments on his fiction piece, I took the liberty of doing so.
I like where this is going already! You get a good sense of the narrator's dry, spare style, and this is all the more impressive as there is really very little extraneous writing. The prose is tight and focussed. I'll definitely be interested in following Drake through his story!
Just one question: is the story intended to be set in Souragne?
