I've got a still from a Full Moon Entertaiment film posted at "Reviews and Stuff" but I have no idea what movie it's from.

If you click here, you'll be taken to my RT page where you can see the still of a Mindflayer-like creature chewing on the head of a victim.

What movie is that from?! I must see it! I MUST!

(Oh, and while I'm here... if anyone is in the Seattle area and wants free tickets to the "Full Moon Horror Road Show" this Sunday night at 7:30pm, I have several pairs to give away. Just PM or email me, either here or at "Reviews and Stuff." You can also click through to Full Moon's website if you're curious but not in Seattle.)

But, for Pete's Sake... will someone ID that movie for me?!

"From Beyond", a la Lovecraft, might be the answer. And of course it fits stylistic. An internet search yields no confirmation of my suspicion however.

I'm pretty sure it's not From Beyond, unless it's a more recent one than the 1986 version.

1986 version. But it has been a while and I did not see it from end to end. So go with Rotipher on this and good luck.

It does look familiar though . . . if not From Beyond then what . . . .

From Beyond isn't a Full Moon Entertainment production.

A Google search found a still that shows the girl moments before she "gives head." The actress is Barbara Crampton, and the still shows her and monster as its shedding its human skin.

The movie is definately "From Beyond", so thanks for the help!

It was not have been released under the Full Moon banner, but it's a film he was involved with, so I may just have made a bad assumption. (The full name of the event is "Charles Band's Full Moon Horror Road Show.")

(Oh, if any of you are in the Seattle area, I'll be happy to provide you free tickets to the show. PM me with your real names. I'll make arrangements with will-call at the Showbox. I'll need to hear from you by Friday afternoon.)

Lovecraft movies are like Poe movies. If there's any similarities beyond the titles, one should be amazed. (Plus, "From Beyond" is a four page story if memory serves. A feature film would have to have all sorts of differences.

Those of you with a PC or an XBox (not the 360, the original) should check out Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. It's a very atmospheric CoC game that looks like an FPS but which brings a lot more than most do.

(The PC version, though lots of fun, was hurriedly ported and has a few problems that the XBox version doesn't.)

I second this recommendation. I picked it up for $20 new completely expecting it to suck, and was completely blown away. The atmosphere was genuinely creepy without over-relying on "boo!" moments, although I have to say it was pretty hard at moments and dying a thousand times tends to break the atmosphere. Still, good bargain!

I also see that The Case of Charles Dexter Ward has been made into a film (it is among the Lovecrafts that I most wanted to see on the silver screen) as the The Resurrected and that Mangrum recommends it as "an excellent film adaptation". Any concurring or dissenting vocies?
