FF and the Silver Surfer

I just saw the film and I liked it, but I think it could be better.

I expected to see more great action scenes and special effects. On the other hand the characters were better fleshed.

SPOILERS:

IMO the Silver Surfer has literally beat the FF! If it wasn't for the trick with the impulse, the Earth would be gone and the FF with it!

I liked very much the Doom return even if the film didn't explain how he managed to get saved.

After the end of the film I had only one question: The bad guys never die in these films!
(I know that Silver Surfer shouldn't be considered a bad guy, but hey he was responsible for many disasters even if he had regret it at the end!) 8)

I refuse to pay money to watch that film. Not only am I disgusted at the blatant Dodge endorsement, but the local theater here has started a stupid advertising campaign where 30 minutes before each movie are wasted telling everybody that the movie is digital instead of film.

I didn't care for the movie. For one I don't like Jessica Alba so that gave me a bad impression before I even saw it. But Surfer's energy doesn't come from his surf board, so knocking him off the board to "control" him was another movie film added weakness to make a "better" film. The ending made me very upset. So Surfer all of a sudden decides after talking to the invisible bim*& that he will leave Galactus? Umm. didn't work that way. And Surfer killing Galactus with the powers Galactus gave him; powers significantly weaker than Galactus' own, sorry, no. Thats assuming Galactus is dead of course; I couldn't tell. Not to mention Reed Richards was a moron in the movie for being one of, if not the smartest person on the planet. Oh yeah and getting Galactus to leave the planet by having Surfer fly away? That was hilarious for several reasons.

Now excluding all that because I am a nerd, the movie wasn't bad from an outside stand point. I tend to avoid comic movies because they just are too inaccurate for me to accept; but now I'll get off my soap box. :D

Since I never read Hellboy I did enjoy the movie. How does it stack up to the comics?
