I'd been having problems with my video card fan and was developing the bad habit of physically jarring or shaking the machine to keep it from rubbing against its casing-- well, I got a good Halloween scare when after a particularly firm thump I heard a POP and everything went black.

Wasn't the video card, though... it was the old and somewhat flaky UPS dying.

So, after my seasonal job at the Halloween store wound up I found a replacement fan and surge suppressor and finally got my computer back online today. Sweet peace! No more rattling from the video card, and everything's running just great.

You missed all the upheaval with all the staff changes... Dru decided it was time for some new faces, forced some of us out and brought in some ringers... I'M FINALLY FREE!!!! Well, not really coz I'm now forced in making paper dollie chains for her full time... poopy...
