Flashback Weekend in Chicago

Greetings my brother & sisters of the frat ~

I have just come apon this shin-dig being held in my old stomping grounds, and was wondering if any of you attend this little gathering of ghouls every year?
I have shamefully never even heard of it until three days ago, but it looks like its been going on for a few years now. The selling point for me was that the Son of Svengoolie is going to be there - for those of you not in the know - Sven was a late night Horror host way back when, and I used to stay up and watch him on friday nights as a wee lad. I even got a chance to see him in person once, and had him autograph a rubber chicken for me.

Anyway, I know a few of you are from the Chicagoland area and was wondering if you plan on attending this convention. It's not until the weekend of July 28th-30th, but I've already reserved my hotel room for that weekend and put in for the time off of work. Looking forward to seeing my hometown as I haven't lived in the area for about 12 years now and find myself starting to miss it.

Just thinking out loud...

:)

I hadn't heard about this. I'll have to find more about it.

Amazing how something can be going on in your own backyard and yet you completely miss it.

Well, it looks like it's going to be a Horror convention during the day, and at night they're going to turn the parking lot into a drive-in to show Horror movies on.
They are also having a costume contest - which I'm going to enter as the Headless Horseman...
but, you know - without the horse.

I can't seem to get it to make a link stright to there, so here is the web adress:

It's a few months away yet, but it looks like it might be worth looking into.

Hmm... I might have to look into attending this myself, time permitting.

Man, That's friggin awesome!
I need to get my GF something to do while the convention is going on so I can attend.
Man, and only a seven hour drive. I usually make the trip to Rosemount every year around August for the Wizardworld Comic Con.
...Man thats awesome!
I need to start scheming...

Hmm... If enough people from around here to make it to this convention, then we should try to find a time and place to meet (maybe during a lunch). It would be pretty cool to meet some of the other members face-to-face.

The irony is that my wife and I usualy make the 7+ hour drive up to Minnesota (St. Cloud) in August/September to visit family...

That would be really cool.
My opposition as of right now is the GF is currently planning our vacation to VA.
Maybe I can solo it

Too funny. That has always been the big draw for us is that Rosemount isn't far enough away to be a large financial burdon.
