All in all
The best book since Lord of Chaos. :)

Many major plotlines close finally.
Others are moved substantially forward. And by "others" I mean plotlines that have been laid hanging since book 1,2,4 etc.

Things actually change as much in this book as they have in the last 3 books... combined.

* * * MINOR SPOILERS * * *

Perrin finds Faile.
Loyal gets caught by his mother and ... something special happens.
Elayne gets the throne.
Galad avenges the "death" of his mother and most importantly her rape.
A forsaken is caught.
The Seanchan empire at the west falls to complete disarray and civil war. More than 50 nobles put armies on the field. In the future it will probably disintegrate as Artur's Hawking empire had.
Mat finally comes to a conclusion about his memories, the Eelfin and the Aelfin.
Moraine Sedai doesn't come back... exactly but beckons and pulls strings from across the "grave"

And more...
Many more.

Didn't read your spoilers, haven't read the book yet (waiting for paperback) but I'm really looking forward to this one. I'm hopelessly hooked on these books, no matter how stretched out and wandering they get.

Then you will be sad... This book is certainly a great step towards the end of the series.
It screams "end" in every chapter after the 1st half.

Well, I will be sad, but happy too. The time has come (some say the time has passed) for some resolution. As long as it ends well, I can go back to recommending the series to others. Right now, I have trouble because I love it, but others may be put off by it's neverending nature.

I stopped reading after the previous book- I'm waiting till the whole series is over and then I'm going to sit down and read it all from beginning to end.

All I'm concerned about is that the ending/resolution doesn't seem rushed...?

And any sign of Min? She's my favourite. Well, of the women- Mat and Perrin tie for my favourite guy. :D
