If you haven’t seen this film I recommend it 100% .It’s an atmospheric thriller.

A synopsis: The typical house at the country at which happen strange things started as always many years ago. A woman tries to help/resolve and… as always there are many surprises!

While I was watching it with a friend of mine, we said many times: “this is the bad guy” or “ah, that had happened” and often at least one of us was right but neither she nor I could imagine how this movie would end.

If someone of you have seen it, please tell me if you had thought when Caroline ( the heroine) tried to escape from the house and the front door was locked and she couldn’t break it even with her car: “What she is trying to do, it’s clear, the borders are closed!”
I was very disappointed when she actually managed to get out!

She managed to get out of closed borders?

No. The whole scene made me think that the woman is a Darklord and she has closed dthe borders in order to not let Catherine escape from the Manor. But since it wasn't a Ravenloft movie, she manages to escape, using a boat, from a river. If you watch the film you will understand.

But she really didn't escape, now, did she?

What I liked most about this movie was the realization, after the 'ending', of just how horrific the events we saw really were. (as in, just who really was lynched & burned, and the then 'incestuous' relationship of the children as they grew up).

I also enjoyed that part - how you didn't know what was going on, until the very end! I thought I had it all figured out, then suddenly, it was turned on it's head.

All the misdirection the villains conducted was amazing. Especially when we think that the lawyer is stalking the girl. Then we realize he is...but he's not really stalking her...
