Proposed Netbook: Gazetteer entries for "S" series

I thought I might suggest this, if the Fraternity is up for it.

Basically, people write up a domain review in the fashion of "S" with her as the narrator and submit it to the Fraternity of Shadow. The best entries for each domain are included in the Netbook.

And perhaps an intro by Steve and a Epilogue?

(suggestion)

Just for the record: Staunton Bluffs is MY baby... I'll allow no one to touch it...

*And there I go to Spain*

If this gets off the ground, I'd like to try my hand at Ghastria and Odiare.

The question is really whether the Fraternity is interested.

Please, the Fraternity would be interested in anything as long as it either had a stripper come with it or Dru standing behind them with a big stick and a bigger smile.

I think maybe someone from the Kargatane would be a better choice for that role. The Boys from the Bookshop and I had our own falling out. I'd hate to take center stage in anything involving their signature series.

Although a small entry on the Isle of Ravens might be fun to do. I may even have time in October to do it.

Or...
Complete 2E Ravenloft collections
Mail Order Brides that AREN'T out for money
HUGE bribes
Showed possibility of world domination
Free subscriptions to What Magic
A selection of chocolate bars...

The list goes on ;)

It is to early to say whether we would go anything about Gazetteers just yet, but if we do, I want to make it known right now that I claim House of Lament, Davion and Vorostokov!

Touche Steve.

I just was wondering if they were not sworn off Ravenloft entirely after all this.

John especially has a history of being screwed by his partners in the RPGing business (I can sympathize).

Its incredible what the closure has done to community! Activity (in August at that!) has jumped to the roof.

I guess the netzine will receive tons of articles this time.

On Topic: I believe such a project would need much editing. When many people write as S, and continuity must be served, these people must be ready for revising their work often. I mean when Wiccy says X happened in Vorostok and then S travels to Nidala, Willowhugger must take care to include what happened to Vorostok.

PS. Is Bluespur still free? I take it.

*Just can't stay in retirement - so I am writing between boxes full of my books, ready to move*

Official announcement: IF such a project is announced, I want to do Staunton Bluffs and Scaena, as well as Prime Material Plane Barovia.
Althought everyone here has the same right to do so, I think after the extense research I've done for these three (errh, two) domains (and that land), I am the one who would need the less approach of all.

But let's not precipitate on this topic too much. I think, the first thing we should do here should be helping the Frat become the official RL representation on the net.

Then, we also should wait some more time until it's finally clear what becomes of RL and of D&D in general. Rumour says 4e is coming 2008 - if the WotC business domination continues, we indeed may have Ravenloft relaunched. Don't forget that RL was one of TSR's flagships during 2e.

*Tomorrow my internet/telephone is cut off, so I say goodbye for some weeks* :soth:

I'm thinking it will putter out before then.

Just as general advice for people, please don't pick too many domains to do yourself. If you want to write a domain in gazetteer style you're going to need to write a fair amount and keep consistancy with what you have written and previous entries.
