Has anyone heard anything on this setting? I seem to recall hearing something about it awhile ago. Aparently its a MotRD-like setting?

The only things that I've heard about this are the brief advertisements in the back of various books. I am assuming that it is an oriental-themed piece of the MotRD setting, but assumptions can be a dangerous thing...

Assumptions yes, but what about conjecture, gossip, speculation, supposition or blind guessing?
Certainly it appears to have an oriental theme, what with the jade dragon and all. But how would it differ from Masque of the Red Death?

Maybe it takes place in an earlier time-frame.
But that could still easily take place on the Gothic Earth just at an earlier date. Or they could alter the myths and origins of the darkness more to match the Chinese and Oriental cosmology and myth structure. Perhaps a more karmic system than morality system for power checks and the like.

This is what first came to my mind when they announced this product. I figured that it was merely going to be an asian/oriental interpretation of the original setting. Something akin to what they did with
Vampire: The Masquerade when they made the oriental version.

In the RLPH, the Masque of the Red Death and the Masque of the Jade Dragon are described as two separate worlds, both seemlessly overcome with Ravenloftish essence. Jackie and Nickie said something about seeing how the MotRD setting fares financially before considering the release of MotJD.

I'm working on this project, and some of what people are guessing here is accurate, and some of it is not.
Interesting.

Hello Rucht,
Must you only tease us or can you give us a bit more info??
Patrick
Have a good day!
PS: I am re-reading my VRGttSF, and I think it's even better the second time around! VRGttWD was pretty good (good clean fun), but that one is a notch above (better role-play in my opinion). Just keep improving like that!

I hope this things comes out. A lot happened in Asian history that is worthy of exploring in game- opium wars, millenarian cults, etc.

True, but why not incorporate it into the MotRD setting?
Perhaps this is going to be more than just a Asian MotRD? Perhaps it is going to run by a different basic theme?
The Red Deathis designed on the Gothic theme, so perhaps the Jade Dragon is based on a Pulp theme? Adventurers enter exotic lands on a quest to uncover the mysteries of the Orient: Brave archeologists quest for the Obsidian Falken in the plateau of Leng, while jewel theives strive to return a cursed diamond to the temple of Shangrala, and intrepid investigators dueling with the insideous Dr. Pan Lu.

Rucht informed me that MotJD would also involve the Philippines, so I can't wait for this to come out.

Actually, what I said was, "If you are looking for Red Death in the Phillipines, you need to look for Masque of the Jade Horror, which I'm working on right now. It's set in Asia."
I did not say that it would
specifically feature the Phillipines. I do not know if it will or will not. It will depend upon whomever is in charge of that section of the book. I am not in charge of that section of the book.
Keep your hopes up. You may get what you wish for.

Oh, so its Masque of the Jade Horror?
I thought it was Jade Dragon.
My mistake.

I have just been added to the creative line-up working on this book.
I'll be putting the first word on paper (so to speak) Saturday.
