Did anyone invent yet... A pocket domain existing entirely inside a website?
Like, it can be accessed by anyone in the land of mists with a computer (though that's already narrowing, considering most domains' technological level), but 90% of the inhabitants are bots created by the darklord, the mists or the users. 'Closing the Borders' means anyone trying to get out finds themselves endlessly doomscrolling.
Regarding darklord backstory, I'm sure we could come up with a ton of those. An influencer running a page about 'true crime' serial killer stories who decided to try it at home, ending up both filming himself murdering people AND inspiring dozens of copycats? A game designer so desperate for money he let a devil put into an advertisement a link - of the sort you enter no matter where on the screen you pressed - to a faustian deal contract, practically forcing players into selling their souls? A programmer who designed his social media app in a way that at first made it incredibly popular, but then gaslighted people into hating eachother, polarising societies and starting countless civil wars - and bro realised what was going on but kept the app as it is out of greed? The options are endless!
Do you have ideas?
