Dear members of the Fraternity,
Miladies,

You may have heard it on Facebook in the last days, and we are happy to confirm it as of now :

We have exciting news! The Fraternity is getting a company sponsorship. This is especially beneficial since we do have increasing costs to pay on the site's upkeep. The sponsorship does come with some obligations, though. But we trust you will agree that some small changes to the site are a small price to pay to stay online!

But more importantly, what it means is that much like White Wolf did on year 2003, the Ravenloft setting will be fully developed in 5e! (That means VRGtR was just a fallacy).

So yes, it’s true, Ravenloft has a new sponsor and developer!

The prestigious Mattel company bought the license for the Ravenloft trademark! Woohoo!

We are super-excited with this development and celebrate the new era of Ravenloft or should we say …

Barbie Loft!

The eponymous brand includes a wide range of dolls and accessories, a successful movie, and Barbie is now a household name as she has been an important name in the toy market for over six decades. It will give a lot of visibility to the Ravenloft setting!

That means of course a wide collection of characters and costumes to collect! Here's Ivana Boritsi, Jacqueline Renier, Loht the Prince of Shadows and other famous Ravenloft personalities.

And wait till you see the frisky ermordenung costume set, as well as the Mousy fashion from Richemulot's costume set!

We also take this opportunity to announce our next FoS Gazetteer project: the Barbieland Cluster! Complete with the House, all Playsets, and the full kitchen (what else?). Wait till you hear about the Dream Closet! As a spoiler, we can confirm the darklord of the House is the dreadful Ken.

We are of course very excited of this news!

And in the next weeks, you will see the FoS site change gradually to our new colors:

Whilst I appreciate the gag, which is exceptionally well done I might add, I am now craving that Tiyet Barbie... *sigh*

My favourite one is Jacqueline Montarri, it is easy to make too.
Barbie doll heads are the most commonly dismembered pieces of a Barbie doll, so you just need a headless body and several heads... and a few small jars.
:)

Barbieloft seems more Ravenloftish than the official ravenloft material we have gotten with the latest editions. :lucas:

I have friends who tell me that most of their Barbies ended up looking like Frantisek Markov's broken ones, so the Jacqueline Montarri seems particularly fitting to me.

Almost shocked that they kept the Pharaoh Cleopatra-like barbie in this Ravenloft as a Greek and not as a black african-american. When the april fool's jokes are more accurate historically than "documentaries" and "docudramas" and "filmoids" about reality.

The fact that the historical Cleopatra was extremely ruthless (though it was the norm at the time it works for us if we want to make a Gothic horror villain) and would make a great basis for a darklord (darklady i guess) seems to elude them and all they want to have pointless, idiotic, achieving nothing distortions of history.

She did kill her brother Ptolemy XIV to secure her power after the death of Julius Caesar. And lots of other "standard stuff" for the ancient world.

The only serious question regarding her would be; Was she a super hot babe, or just charming due to other factors? :adam:
