Travel Time / Domain Sizes

I'm beginning a Ravenloft Campaign which, I hope, will involve traveling around the Domains. Beyond just using the mist, I want my characters to actually travel the land and see the Domains. To help, I had the idea of using a blank hex map sheet to overlap over maps, but it hit me: just how large are the domains? With the roads leading through them, how long would it take to go from, in my case, Mordentshire to Hope's End? Would it take most of a day, or would it take longer?
So I'm hoping to pick some dark scholarly minds to try and get a scale of how big the domains are, or get some reference to travel times so I can scale my hex map accordingly before my players actually decide to leave Mordentshire. Does anyone have some thoughts or ideas?
Note: using the 5E travel distances. A day takes about 24 miles at a normal pace.

For sure I haven't kept the original distances from Ravenloft maps in 2nd edition.
Since the beginning Ravenloft's scale was really bad. It is too small and distances really short, which made some references in eye witness accounts from VRGuides ridiculous. For instance a journey from point A to point B was ridiculous becuase in canon maps in two days you would be at point K...
My suggestion is for you to visualise how large you want the Demiplane to be as to fit more what you want to create as a DM.
Do you want your PC's to have large journey's with various encounters in between, or going from one city to the next easily skipping a journey that would seem boresom and out of place with what you have planned. Is a journey in search of a rare artifact long and dangerous, or was it around the corner all the time...

I ve made this map of the Northern Core (befoere the Grand Conjuction). In a scale I found suitable for my campaign and the distances I wanted it to have.
It includes Lamordia, Demise, Dementlieu, Western Darkon, Northern Mordent and Richemulot, Dervich (G'Henna), Falkovnia without the hilly region in the East and finally the Western Sea of Sorrows without any islands present.
It includes places form official releases, netbooks and the Mordent Cartographic Society. It is 300 dpi so it can be printed in 57cm X 71,15 (22,44 in. X 28,01 in.) and the file is is 70 Mb.

Hey, thanks for the help. Appreciate it.
So, considering how the maps I found go, I always did expect the trips between settlements to be hours at the least and days at the most considering how sparsely populated it can get.
