It's interesting that you write that there is 'no account' of their parents. This can only mean an in-game world account or lack thereof, yes? No account known to whom? Is the darklord's past a subject of travellers' tales or bardic lore? That might be cool.
Do you intend for his background to be obscure to most people in-game; so that the real world reader of your article is getting an insider's view of things?
I will try to help fine-tune the last part. Whatever happens shortly before the final entombment is going to be crucial, I think.
His background is meant to be obscure to people in-game, at least parts of it. I guess you could say his background is a traveler's tale, yes. No one knows in-world about his parents, I am leaving it a mystery. Someone using the article for their game could make up what happened to them. Someone reading the article is getting an insider's view of things. People in Ravenloft may get some details of his background wrong when telling his tale, but the article is meant to be a correct version of events.

I've been super busy too. No worries. We aren't in a rush.

Oh, and I wanted to say that when we eventually get around to doing the Positive Energy Domain, I do not have either the Eberron 3.5 CS or the Book of Exalted Deeds. All of my knowledge of the Deathless type comes from browsing my friend's copies of the books and online forums. I think I remember them being the same as undead except they are bolstered by positive energy and turned by negative energy. If I am wrong someone can correct me.

I think I have one of the books with Deathless stats. I'll let you know.

I have the Eberron CS! Yes they are bolstered by such effects thus they are turned by evil clerics and divine casters and rebuked by good clerics or divine casters.
Anything else you need to know?

The concept behind Dread Elemental Planes existing within the Demiplane of Dread as sub-elemental planes is just so extremely fascinating to me!
I still recall back 15 years ago when I first read those elementals I just HAD to create an adventure around them for my players. So so so much fun! I centered a whole quest around needing to discover the manifestations of these things and then taking them out to collect their essence.
But THIS! Wow... whole areas that integrate the planes concept from Planescape (my 2nd favorite setting)... wonderful stuff!

Join us, dude.
Galeros- I suggest the deathless be one of the ancient dead (
i.e. a mummy- but not Egyptian and not necessarilly wrapped). This fits with Van Richten's speculations about the ancient dead, or some of them, being powered by positive energy. Thus, something not very Ravenloftian, the deathless, is made to fit well in the setting.

Having the Darklord be an Ancient Dead was kind of my intent from the start.

Cool!
I'd suggest avoiding anything Egyptian, as we've already got two Egyptian domains.
A bog mummy might be cool.
The Incas mummified kings and such. Maybe a stone and bronze CL 1 culture? Ravenloft could use a few additional primitive domains, I think.

I was actually going to suggest an Inca-like mummy as well.
I imagine the Positive Energy Domain being a verdant land, but with rot lying underneath this rich land. There can be giant fungus too!
Oh, and I hope to have some spare time again by tomorrow to finish up the Grave Domain and then get started on the Blood Domain.
Gotta go take a test soon!

Good luck on the test.
Oh, and.......
MOAR FUNGUS!

While I am still somewhat stymied on coming up with a an act that can count as a final damnation for Adros, I thought that I might begin working on the writeup for the Dread Elemental Domain of Blood. I am going to go with the "Blood Swamp" idea Ewan proposed.
Oh, and I am thinking of doing all of the write ups first, and then doing the stats once I am done with all of the write ups for the domains.
Oh, and I am thinking of having the Ancient Dead Darklord of the Dread Elemental Positive Energy Domain be a Cleric.

Yes, stats should be made only after you get the important stuff finished. Stats are just math and mechanics. The
characters, story, and setting are what really matters.
I think working on Blood is a good idea. Don't beat your head against a wall with Ardos- something will come to you. Blood will still have a Krynn tie-in, yes? No?
