I'd definetely choose to reside in Mordentshire. I like the lay of the land, dress, and mannerisms a lot.

I'm with you on Mordent, Guardian. I'd love to be a Lamplighter in Mordent, in fact, when I find a DM, I hope to be one (in game, of course :)).

I'd eaither go to Mordent and study under the twins to become a monster hunter, or go to Darkon and attempt to join forces with Azalin to escape, agreeing to give him all kinds of inside info, in exchange for him allowing me to keep my memories. The former sounds safer, but the later carries a chance of getting home.

I'd probably be born in Kartakass, Tepest, Lamordia, or Darkon.
I'm 50% Norwiegen, 25% Irish, 12.5% Swedish, and 12.5% German.
Darkon has a lot of Immigrants, so it's kind of like the US, which is where I've actually lived all my life, so Darkon is most likely.
I really don't see how Nova Vassa is similar to Norway, beyond it's similarity to Rohan, but who am I to argue with an actual Norweigen on the matter.

Am I given time to prepare, or do the Mists just snatch me? With a week or so to get ready, I'd bring along notebooks crammed with useful information. Otherwise, I'd have to go with what I know off the top of my head.

I might settle in Falkovnia. I'd join the army. I could be a medic again, and make a place for myself teaching advanced[to these primitive screwheads] trauma care and field medicine.

Darkon, because it's closest to a fantasy game and I imagine a D&D character could fit in best there, what with the memory drain and everything.

In my campaign right now there's actually an influx of Falkovnians across the guarded border into Darkon, who want to go there because of the promise of greater freedom, greater wealth, and especially - the magical forgetfulness that occurs. Many of them wish never to remember the evils that Drakov inflicted on them.

Plus Darkon's got its large towns and small villages and wild areas. It has inland mountains and coastal port towns. The darklord is rather distant from the affairs of lowly mortals and I don't think a level 1 commoner would raise much of an eyebrow there. (Unlike Verbrek, Tepest, or Kartakass, where the darklords make a point of hunting down newcomers for sport or otherwise.)

See, the problem with Mordent is that you'd have to be very, very, very careful to not die while you're anywhere near Mordentshire. I think I'd go for Mordent if it weren't for the fact that I'd find myself fleeing for Dementlieu every time I got the sniffles.

Actually, if the mists tok me there. I'd immediately start looking for the vistani, so I'd head for Barovia. I'd look for the vistani because the dark powers took me to RL for a reason, and the sooner I find out what they want, the sooner they might let me go.

And what if the Dark Powers wanted to play with you for the rest of time?

I am right there with you. And if you could date one of them (preferably Laurie here) then that's awesome too. Unless I'm Nathaniel Hawke. *shakes head sadly*

And for the other poster... I would also go looking for the Vistani. Nothing quite like a trained Vistani mount, right? Also, the song Gypsy Woman by Bobby Womack keeps going through my head.

I'd like Dementlieu. It has high cultural level, University etc and I think you have some more liberties there.

In that case, I guess I wouldn't have much choice.

Either Richemulot or Kartakass. I love the politics involved in Richemuloise society and the emphasis on "secrets as power," though I think I'd have to vacation in Dementlieu or Mordent a month or two every year to flush my system out. With my lifelong love of music and storytelling (I'm a writer, for goodness' sake!) I think that I could fit into Kartakass pretty well. Plus, all the best honeys live in Kartakass and Richemulot. RRrrrarrr! XD

I'd like to live in Lamordia. The advanced sciences, the relative rarity of monsters, plus the inhabitants being more rational and intelligent, I feel that I would fit right in.
