The radiation is an element taken from the adventure's second souce of inspiration, Lovecraft's "The Colour Out of Space," by way of Die, Monster, Die!

Joel, I'm pretty sure my DM swapped those names by accident, and they just stuck out so vividly in my imagination that I had forgotten. I do vaguely remember a "what the heck?" moment when I first read the adventure from a DM's perspective...
A bit like Tommyknockers (the movie at least).

Interesting...I've read quite a few of his stories, but haven't gotten around to this one. I'll check it out!

I also haven't had a chance to read Tommyknockers. It's harder to read a pang of guilt over not reading a Stephen King novel, but I mainly regret not getting to it because I've read almost everything he published, before and since Tommyknockers...Just haven't read that one yet. That, and the Talisman are sitting on my shelf, waiting for years now.

Went to my local store right after I read this and think what? Yes, he still got this Dungeon (among some others) in his collections, and that for only $3,- (well € 3,- to be precise)

Well I saw the movie ages ago, I can remember the whole town getting crazy and digging in the woods for 'something' after they found a strange piece of metal. After a while peoples teeth would fall out, etc. The end sucked a little, but the rest was great!
