Also, the base OR is based on how I think the player is going to run the pc at the moment. However, this kid's pretty original, and a good rp'er, so it'll be interesting to see how it goes! I guess its like what Jason of the Fraternity says...it'll depend alot on the individual.

So while the tolerant people of Darkon would give him a wide bearth at first, when the
first child in the village that the (exposed) tiefling resides is found sick with a simple flu the tiefling will face people throwing stones to him and demanding him to leave (OR +1). If something more serious than a mildly sick child is the problem, a torch bearing mob will probably assemble and drive the character out.
Another Note: OR in Darkon is 3 less. However in the special case of your tiefling, I would give an OR 2 in Darkon, not 1, while the OR would be 4 in Richemulot, Dementlieu etc.
And as I said, the inquisition wouldn't mind if this special "horn-bearing crimson fey" doesn't steal babies in the night. They wouldn't risk it.
And finally a proposal: Red eyes and crimson hair yes. But no horns. Perhaps a tail, or six fingers if you think that eyes and hair are not enough. If I was a player and I was traveling along Tepest, Darkon, Barovia etc and saw a crimson haired, red eyed
horned creature hunt by local heroes, I would
attack not ask questions.

Personally, I would say that an evil reputation comes easily enough with the fiendish characteristics (e.g., horns) as to warrant having it. This isn't to say that the reputation couldn't be improved (or even different in particular areas), but I have a hard time believing that the
standard citizen of Ravenloft would view a tiefling as something other than evil and/or corrupted.
I do understand your logic with domains such as Darkon, Hazlan, and Lamordia. However, I would probably rearrange caliban outcast ratings using that same logic. I just don't view most Ravenloft natives as being educated enough to differentiate between a caliban and a tiefling.

Which is what matters the most... Depending upon how the player uses the character, he could easily earn a better reputation and/or disguise his more fiendish aspects. I think that you have a good handle on things, Willum, and would be interested in hearing more as the character is fleshed out in the game.

Also all the tieflings I know in Ravenloft had the tendecy to throw themselves at the Elder Brain and later their fiendish heritage to be seperated from their human heritage!
PS. All the tieflings I know in Ravenloft = 1 tiefling.

Hey, thanx for everythin' u guys! My gamin' group is makin' a site to post info about our campaigns, so when we get it up and runnin' and have more in-game info on the tiefling, i'll be sure to post the address.

Re. the Transpossession issue: It'd be simpler just to put this PC on a predetermined "Terror Track" when he fails a Powers check, such that his fiendish nature gradually overtakes his human aspects. If he doesn't watch out, he'll wind up as an NPC fiend or half-fiend (and perhaps a future antagonist for other PCs?), instead of becoming a darklord. The Terror Track could recapitulate the transfiguration process for whatever type of fiend this specific tiefling is descended from (player's choice or yours, it's up to you).
Tieflings probably shouldn't have the option of starting the game as an Innocent, if you use those rules IYC, although starting "clean" might be feasible if the PC has clearly made a conscious effort to develop and heed a human-style moral conscience. You might also consider giving this character an automatic flaw that makes him slightly more susceptible to failing Powers checks than other PCs; I believe such a flaw appeared in one of the RL supplements, although I can't recall off the top of my head which one.
