In Falkovnia, the year of 741 BC is known as the Year of the Grey Wyrm. In that year, the giant aquatic monstrosity known as The Grey Wyrm rose from the depths of Lake Kriegvogel to devour several boats and run amok in the town of Silbervas. Although the creature was beaten back into the lake, the disaster left Silbervas' citizens with dread over the beast's return. Henceforth, this year will be known as the Year of the Grey Wyrm.[1]

That same year in an apparently unconnected incident in Falkovnia, a young boy was burnt at the stake as a witch for killing his friends with black magic. However, he swore innocence. His supposed actions may have been the work of a Death-in-the-Box.[2]
