Saloi Asani was an Elsani who abandoned her people to help some whalers and serve as a guide. This was because she fell in love with one of them, Andrew Harker. However, upon discovering he already had a wife back home, she confronted him. He callously tossed her into the cold waters. She laid a curse upon him and uttered a prayer for dark vengeance. the goddess Sere heard her prayer and reanimated her as a frost vampire. She proceeded to murder everyone on board the ship, cabin boy include, by freezing them solid. She saved Andrew Harker for last, killing him as he killed her. The Dark Powers claimed her and the realm of Arca for their own.[1]
Saloi Asani's curse is to long to return to the people she gave up. However, she shun her now that she is one of the undead. Regardless, she feeds upon their body heat.[2]
