Magda (Sergio's Tribe)

A background character from the short story Tales of Ravenloft: Dark Tryst, Magda was a powerful but feared member of Sergio's tribe. She held occult power far beyond that of one "merely" gifted with the Sight, and was probably the raunie of her tribe. Supposedly, she could harness the moon's power and afflict power spells and curses upon transgressors. Sergio, the tribe's oldest man and presumably its Vistani Captain, held that Magda's magic endangered the tribe, as it drew unhelpful notice to them.

Magda was in love with Sean, a giomorgo. Together they had one known child, Marielle. Marielle inherited some of her mother's magical power, such that Sergio and the tribe feared her as well. Sergio proclaimed Marielle responsible for the death of her betrothed, albeit by accidentally afflicting the evil eye upon him. Magda protected Marielle from retribution by way of threatening a curse upon those whom went after her.

Following Magda's death, Sean was exiled, leaving Marielle with no direct blood link relatives. Sergio implemented several bans on magical practices, such as the summoning of spirits.
