Background

A cruel and brutal aristocrat who murdered his wife Estelle Weathermay and daughter Lilia Godefroy, and then framed the act as an accident. He endured a year of their ghostly vengeance before committing suicide, but this did not end his torment for long. After Mordent was pulled into the Demiplane of Dread and the Alchemist met his apparent end, Azalin and Strahd soon withdrew from the domain. This left Lord Wilfred as the greatest evil within Mordent. After he became ghostly darklord of Mordent, their ghosts of his wife and daughter rose quickly to torment him once again. They repeat this pattern every night to haunt and consume him eternally.[1]

Current Sketch

For many of his his years as a darklord, Lord Godefroy was a fairly stagnant spirit who limited most of his activities to the House on Gryphon Hill. In the approximate year of 747 BC, some adventurers nearly took him out permanently. Since then, Lord Godefroy's agenda has been shifting increasingly proactive, rather than a reactive, agenda for control over the realm. Many spirits of the dead are drawn to that place. Once there, they are trapped and fully under Godefroy's control. One of these ghosts is Alice Weathermay, the dead wife of Daniel Foxgrove. Godefroy uses her to blackmail Foxgrove into operating as a spy and informant for him. Godefroy even occasionally forces Foxgrove make proclamations or summons on his behalf.[2]

In addition to the above, Lord Wilfred has been gathering more spirits to his ghostly mansion. Factional disputes between the Ezrites have recently gotten his attention regarding this.[3]
