Great Moor

The Great Moor lies north of Mordentshire and south of the Forest of the Ancients. It consists of marshes and bogs that are nigh impenetrable save via the Mill Road. The Wescote Manor, east of the Mill Road, lay at the moor's heart, at least until 743 BC. It was the decades long expansion of the bogs about the Wescote lands that gave rise to the Great Moor. Their expansion and their haunting by the ghost of Burton Wescote's drowned bride ceased with his death in 743 BC.
