A character from the Knight of the Black Rose novel and a Vistana, Andari Kulchevich was a member of the Kulchevich Family, brother to Magda Kulchevich, and grandson of Madame Girani. Alhough he was by all indications a talented musician, he acted as a pimp, procuring customers for his cousins working as prostitutes or dancers. Andari tried to press his sister to do the same, but she continually rebelled. Only the patience of Madame Girani kept Madga from exile.[1]

In 720 BC, one such sibling squabble ended with a potential customer, Boyar Grest, storming off. the Kulchevich's debates were interrupted by the intrusion of Lord Soth, which eventually ended with the death of Madame Girani and several more of the Kulchevich clan as Soth fought his way out of their camp. Andari fled the battle even though he saw Soth kidnapping Magda.[2]

Not too much later, Andari met his end at the hands of Count Strahd von Zarovich. Strahd had made a point of eliminating the Kulcheviches ostensibly to please Soth for their rudeness. Madga later saw Andari reanimated as one of the Obedient Dead serving Strahd ( probably some variant of a zombie.[3]

In life, Andari was an avid violinist who performed for guests and customers to the Kulchevich caravan. Andari carried a violin he highly valued, even over the wellbeing of his own sister, as a family heirloom.[4] In undeath, Andari retained his musical skills, much to the horror of Magda in their meeting in Castle Ravenloft.[3]
