The Tepestani Inquistion, known locally as The Inquisitors, hunt the fey, the willing allies of the fey, and the ensorcelled victims of the fey, in the last case hoping to free them. They are led by Wyan, and centered in Viktal.

Though the Inquisitors are well-meaning, their methods are fraught with problems. Their hunt for the fey is too widely cast. The troublesome fey of Tepest are, for the overwhelming part, the shadow fey and principally among them the species that belong to the Unseelie Court. But the Inquisition's hunt for fey has also become a hunt for fey-like difference among creatures that are are not fey at all but rather are humanoid. The hunting of elves and half-elves is the most often case, and they are known to hunt calibans as well.

The use by the inquisition of the infamous witch pin assures that any non-human can potentially be singled out. These same witch pins imperil the existence of any creature that has spell-like abilities or who can cast spells, save for priests of Belenus. A hardy less blunt instrument is the fairy stool. They do not react to trained spellcasters such as bards, druids, clerics and wizards. This hunting of fey allies in terms of fey magic is, if anything, even more troublesome. As magic detectors, fairy stools pick out sorcerers who need not have any sympathy for the fey. They also pick out entire schools of magic energy, instead of merely identifying victims of the fey.
