How big is the Swarm by the way Ewan Size area(X ft by X ft by Xft ) wise . As Alain could hit it with Hail of Stones spell as a possible way to break it up maybe . By the way if I remember right, breaking up a swarm does not neccessarily kill all of the creatures in a swarm as well .

It's hard to estimate with precision, but it might be twenty or thirty feet square. lots of rats.

That will work, but she'll also need a swim check or a check for profession: boatman (can be rolled untrained).
