What are the questions to which there is no canon answer? I'm specifically looking for things that are raised in canon sources, but explicitly don't have answers beyond what the GM decides. (And let's just take questions about the Dark Powers as read, please).

e.g.

Who killed Ubel Ratik?

Where is Jacqueline Montarri's head?

Why do the paka hate humans?

At this point I'd argue that paka hating humans is a chicken and the egg kind of thing. Why do they keep trying to kill us? Because we keep trying to kill them wherever we find them. Why do we kill them wherever we find them? Because they keep trying to kill us!

Paka are great at holding a grudge and given Ravenloft humanity's tendency towards paranoia/discrimination regarding anything that looks almost but not quite completely human, well you can do the math.

Where did Inza find the mystical knife Novgor?

Why did Antonina Zolnik stay dead when Gregor killed her in the backstory to Dark Of The Moon given that in the Darklords book it expressly says that so long as Gregor is lord of the domain Ravenloft will automatically raise her from the dead if they are killed?

That's not exactly what I was looking for (except perhaps the one about Inza), but thank you.

Seven, actually. The 13th is the Changeling.

The Shadowlands would probably have been in the same gazetteer as Odaire. Personally, I would have put them in Odaire rather than the Shadowlands for the fridge horror aspects. If I'd put it in Nidala, it would have been filling the same role as Theokos, I think. But although we would have revealed it's identity eventually (making it only a borderline Unsolved Mystery), we hadn't worked out the details exactly.

Is Van Richten really dead? If so, what happened?

I find it kind of interesting that I've never developed headcanon for most of these mysteries. Except the Time of Unparalleled Darkness. That one I figured out.

I've just become fond of open-ended questions, I reckon.
