I've watched to episode 7 so far. Only one missing, and I love it. I think the second half is notably better than the first, with episodes 5 to 7 all strong for me. Also the actors blend in better and some of the characters become more interesting. In particularly, Frankenstein and Chandler in my view.

I still don't like Dorian Grey, nor his actor, and I think Brona is too much of a diversion which I hoped could be more used. I actually like the job Billie Piper is doing / did. But of course, for me, the show is about Eva Green.

The story may not be too original. It hardly could be. But it still keeps me interested, because the show is mainly about the characters, rather than the plot. Remember old Mangrum's own campaign at the SotK? Similar kind of thing. Or was that Stu's? Never mind.

I like the ambience, I like the music, I like how the action is improving to the end, but mostly I have enjoyed the slow episodes, those heavy on broodiness and story. To each his taste, I think. Just had to share, I'm too much into it right now.

Good for when you actually need to write something for a MotRD game, actually *cough* *cough* (not forgotten, Steve, just need some quiet time early in the day to get the ideas on paper).

I think, compared to the grimdark softcore porn that other wanna-be Gothic series try to sell their viewers, this one, especially in retrospect, is pretty well done.

Not earthshakingly spectacular, but alright.

I stopped watching after the 3rd episode tbh.

There are things in there that annoy me a bit. For example, the music reminds me too much of Wojcieh Killar's soundtrack to Coppola's Dracula, but since I liked that one very much, it makes me like this one too.

But Dorian Gray, really, annoys me. It's the actor, really, I don't think he's that good. Caliban annoys me a bit too.

I was also put off by the scene, especially since it seemed to be totally unjustified.
But otherwise, the series suits me great. I am always for more story than action

Loving the second season which I follow on Netflix. Writing got not necessarily better, but deeper.

The plot is still way too forced, but the series shines in the details, which I mainly credit to the work of script supervisor Jeannette Mc Grath, who might just be the best in her business.

I'm loving this series, up until recently mostly for Rory Kinnear's portrayal of the Monster, which has achieved the near impossible, a workable adaptation of the literary Frankenstein's Monster, intelligent, sympathetic, yet unrepentantly evil. Billie Piper's character has grabbed my attention by the throat, as it were, as her character arc has changed dramatically this season

The series, like many of even the high-profile productions like Game of Thrones, suffers from very short-sighted writing. It seems clear that this was thought of as a one-season affair, especially when you look at the Frankenstein's bride/Dorian Gray character arcs.

But, yeah, Rory Kinnear, impressive, especially with a role so silly. Also, Josh Hartnett, one of my favorite actors since he dropped the teenage shtick; wish the guy would work more.

It only just got on netflix here and I'm binge watching. I only rarely have a series I don't get bored with and give up for awhile. This is one. That even happened to me with Game of Thrones. Found myself enjoying it as well. I guess I never really saw that it was "slow" until it was pointed out in this topic. Though I am less harsh when it comes to judging movies/music/ect. XD Was going to put a topic up about it recently because I only recently found it but it seems most people already know of it. I'm fairly certain I already know who the werewolf is after about the 4th episode, as well as "Jack the Ripper" being back is tied in with that.
