Time zone

Today I noticed that my time zone was an hour off. I live at GMT minus 5, which is usually the Eastern Standard Time for USA.
It had been fine before this, so I'm wondering why it went back an hour today. Did the UK set its clocks back?
I have set it to GMT minus 4 hours, and it reads correctly now. It's not a big problem but it made me confused.
