Denizens of Dread says +8. Denizens of Darkness doesn't give any LA entry.

Having the Dhampir so powerful does essentially end any chances of it being used for anything but 'that powerful npc' the DM cooked up.

There's a Half-Vampire template (which is a Dhampire all but in name), in Libris Mortis.

Much more toned down, it has an LA of +2, far more reasonable.

There's also another half-vampire template in Dragon # 313 in the Half-Undead article.

And there's the Dicefreaks Dhampire template (scroll down)

Can't believe I never noticed the Level Adjustment in the Dhampir entry, before. Guess I should've read the whole thing.

And thanks for the heads up on the Half-Vampire from Libris Mortis. It looks pretty interesting. So do the other mentioned examples from Dragon and such.

Man, I really hope 4E has a playable Half-Vampire/Dhampir early on. That'd be amazing. Especially since, with Racial Feats, you can vary the level of power of your Dhampir. Make him closer to the Half-Vampire from Libris Mortis, or over time, make him closer to the Dhampir from Denizens of Dread. That'd be a nice result (And a possible one, seeing as how other PC races get similar. Like Dragonborn gaining wings and breath weapons through racial feats). Well, we'll see.

I've been in a pretty big Dhampir mood, lately, though. ;) So much so that I went and watched Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Underworld, and Underworld: Evolution for the first time. :D Was planning on playing one in a D&D game starting at 14th level, but yeah. Dhampir or no, no way am I gonna play a 6th-level character in a 14th-level game. I was considering the Half-Vampire, but I went for a Dragonborn from Races of the Dragon, in the end.
