Yes, that was inspiring, indeed.
Raise that to 57 possible movie spoiler, because Coco has perhaps the best social darklord example in film (or at least one that isn't a horror movie).
Seriously, just give Ernesto de la Cruz the ability to summon ghostly backup dancers and a curse that makes his fame utterly hollow in both the living and dead worlds; it's easy enough to make his lack of originality a full curse (He can sing well, but he can't do anything original or secure his legend beyond what he stole from Hector, nor can he have his own family-just have it so his joy when dealing with Miguel was thinking he finally wasn't alone, but then he chose to not risk exposure over his only real chance at an emotional connection).
