Hello! I wasn't sure where to start with this, so I decided to introduce myself here first! My name is Michail Vartholomaios, and I'm a recent Fraternity fan. I'm also a confirmed lurker in the FoS Discord. I played some Ravenloft back in the days of 3.X and now again in 5e.

I've been writing a D&D adventure. I plan to publish through the DM's Guild in the following months.
The focus of this adventure is Richemulot and to a lesser extent, the Carnival. I've been trying to include as many elements from the setting, including official works, but also material from the Fraternity of Shadows and the Karganate. The intention here isn't to import the work of others, but try to include as much of the setting as I could find. For this reason, I've been avoiding including focal characters and quests.
To make sure no issues of plagiarism come up, I've decided to directly contact every author I've referenced from the Fraternity and Karganate, to get their explicit permission (hopefully).

Unfortunately, a number of the referenced material comes from authors whose contact information never appeared or no longer works ("broken" email address). I've decided to post in the FoS forum, hoping that this message will catch their eye! :)

So, the people I'm looking for are: Alhoon/Andrew Pavlides, Andrew Snow, Cure, DarkSoldier, Mikhail Rekun and Joseph Zettelmaier.
- I've referenced Alhoon and Cure's work from "The Vault: Domain of The Month: Richemulot" to create two factions that participate in a sort of gang war in Saint Ronges; The Family Gang, and a group of serial killers.
- I've referenced Zettelmaier's and Snow's characters for the Carnival. Albert (Human Morningstar), Black Jake, La Petite En Pointe and the Runt, all appear. Each character appears as part of a specific Carnival venue; their backstory doesn't appear in the adventure. However, I've reintroduced La Petite En Pointe to first join the Carnival as the characters are exploring it, during a time that Isolde is missing.
Doctor Mingus appears in a location called Perfumers' Society, where his lab is located in the adventure. He has been given additional backstory and is connected to a few other cases in the adventure. I've considered a narrative device that will "move" him to Pont-a-Museau later in the adventure.

I'm still writing/designing Pont-a-Museau, so the information about the following references could change:
- I've referenced DarkSoldier's group of characters called the New Outcasts. The adventure focuses mostly on Anna and Silas. Kerad and Amaaera appear and can be recruited into an insurgency with the rest of the New Outcasts, but the characters will interact less with them.
- I've referenced Rekun's character Monsieur Dior from the Midnight Market. Dior can't access the Midnight Market in the adventure, so he's been abducting and enslaving in the capital instead. He's working with Henri Milton (from Werebeasts) and may end up kidnapping Anna.
- I've considered adding Zettelmaier's characters Xavier D'Arcey and Gaston in Pont-a-Museau, but I'm not sure yet. The general plan is to allow the players to discover each one's dark side. "Solving" their cases leads to a possible outcome of recruiting both into an insurgency.

If you read your name here, then please know I'm looking for you! You can contact me here, via email (anotherfantasyroleplayinggame@gmail.com), or via Discord (username: micelen). Sry for the long post, and thanks to Rock for prompting me here!

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! I think I had an account on here a decade ago but I wasn't really active and have been away for so long I completely forgot what it was, so... here we are again.

Hello all,

Long time drifter in these forums, figured I'd finally poke my head up and say "hello." Found this place about 15 or so years back when I started DMing in middle school and took a liking to gothic horror. I'm actually gearing up to run my first campaign in the Domains of Dread using the 2e ruleset. Strange to consider given that it's probably my favorite setting and how long I've been DMing.
But with that I also wanted give a big thumbs up to everyone who worked on the Souragne Gazetteer. The campaign is starting in Souragne in the year 738 BC (Barovian Calendar) and the gazetteer gives just so much detail that I could keep the campaign there for as long as my players remain interested in the region. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do in the world after they step off the boat in Port d'Elhour.

Welcome AnchoriteInTheBayou! Glad to hear the old gazetteer is still doing good work. I agree, it's a treasure trove! (I can say that without bias since I didn't contribute to it. :) )

Hello all

New fraternity member here. I'm also on the discord as well. My Internet name has been Ikarus (Forever DM) for a couple of years because that was what I used on my Tiktok. Since I gathered a humble following there, I decided to keep that handle as I begin to spread to other platforms. None the less, my name is Tim. I've been DMing for about a decade or so. I've run Curse of Strahd 5e but only recently fallen into the rabbit hole of Ravenloft. I have been wanting to make more content that just Tiktok, so I'm going to be branching out into YouTube, FB, and Instagram. My first series on YouTube is going to cover ravenloft, and I couldn't be more excited. I've followed several prominent YouTubers of dread, including hour of the raven, DM of the Mists and others as I try to gather as much information as I can about this wonderful dreadful domain. I also hope to become a contributing member, offering things like fan-fare/homebrew and maps.

"I LIVE... AGAIN!"

Years and yyyeeeaaarrrsss ago, I was a member. But, I forgot my account (after losing the email it was attached to). Anyway, fly many years later (probably a good 15 or more) and here we are now! I'm probably more well known on The Piazza at this point, but it's good to be back here. I've been meaning to submit to QtR for quite a long time, but often missed the deadlines. It's a reason why my Mystara crossover was sent to Threshold Magazine instead. Anyway, good to be back.

Hi all!

Completely new to Ravenloft. I used to play (DM) 2e back in the 90’s and have not played since(but still have quite a collection of resources). I have a group together to start playing again. I am looking for the first adventure to be Halloween themed and as such have considered Ravenloft. I have The Night of the Walking Dead pdf and the Realm of Terror boxed set. I’m not looking to play an entire Ravenloft campaign at this point though and am looking for some pointers or advice on how to go about go about playing a Ravenloft adventure without fully committing to a full campaign.

I figure I could play it as a stand-alone and then start again with new characters in different setting

Or

Play the adventure without reference to Ravenloft (fit it into an as yet undecided setting).

Or

Play it as it is but have a way for the player characters to escape back to another world that we later decide to play(potentially with a plot idea that allows escape and return, although I understand this may go against the concept of the Demi plane?).

I’m open to any suggestions. My basic aim is to just play a Halloween themed session but not burn any bridges or commit too hard to either a campaign setting or against one either. I want it nice and open to whatever we want to do as a group.

Anyhow, nice to be here

If you are interested in fleshing out that adventure more you could have a look at the Survey of the Souragne Expedition compiled by members of this forum. As the adventure takes place in that domain.

Hello, i am Isolde. Ravenloft has been a favorite add-on setting and a stand-alone setting throughout all the years i have played the game as a DM and player. I have had several groups of friends playing in it, interacting with the settling with almost all prime material settings.
