I just checked Gaz V and VRG Shadow Fey because they were sitting on my desk.

I don't think it's VRGttSF page 51, is it? (he's coming out of a door, not up a hill, and the dogs look more like wolves or huskies... but it's possible you misremembered it?)

page 67 of the same book is even more unlikely, but at least it's outside, though you probably would've mentioned that the warrior looked evil and was accompanied by a skeleton riding a horse. :)

Gaz V had nothing.

I checked those before heading out for work, still no luck finding the illustration.

Can anybody check the short story with George from Tales of Ravenloft ? I think it might have an illustration.

Tales of Ravenloft wasn't illustrated to my knowledge.

I'm pretty sure none of the novels have any illustration other than cover art, except for possibly "I, Strahd"

Checked this one (one of the few 2e Ravenloft books I own). Nothing in that one.

Hey Gonzoron, thanks mate, it is not page 51.

This is what I remember.

There is a hill or some elevation form which makes the guy, warrior/ranger type, maybe with a chain mail,, maybe with a crossbow (guessing), face the illustrator and the dogs could be english pointers, german shorthaired pointers or weimeraners. There is one dog that is looking to his side, with a nice profile view and at least two other dogs. There might be a pine tree in the composition and I am almost sure it is on landscape format.

I am gonna go through your list with great care and I will post an update.

Thanks all for helping on this crazy quest

I've gone through all the 2E adventures & sourcebooks without sucess in finding this illustration, I have seen MANY that could have been it if only Seisz was after wolves! I'm still looking...

Checked my Book copy of DoD and my pdf copies of VRGttM, DT&DL and Carnival, and didn't find anything there. VRGttM doesn't seem to be illustrated even.

Well, Jim's collection's about as complete as they come, so if he checked ALL the 2e stuff, with Isabella's additions, that leaves only:

VRG to the Walking Dead (2003)
Secrets of the Dread Realms(2001)
Legacy of Blood (2004)
Masque of the Red Death (2004)
Expedition to Castle Ravenloft (2006)
I6: Ravenloft (1983)
I10: The House on Gryphon Hill (1986)

Too tired to check these now. I can do it in the morning, if no one else does by then.

Except for the last two on your list, gonzoron, I can confirm none of the others have the picture (including EtCR and the 3e Tarokka deck).

Hi

awesome

I got a pdf for the I6 and is not there. It is not on house on gryphon hill either, nor on secrets.

Just wanna mention that I checked the complete ranger and the complete druid and the FR material and it is not there. Called a friend, whose mother is the painter of the picture I mentioned in the first post, and he said "man that is ravenloft, and the dogs are weims, at least two". I asked him which books he had back in the 90s and he mentioned all the grand conjunction adventures, masque and the 2nd ed boxed sets.

I went to check masque again thoroughly and while it is not there I can tell that this mystical illustration has the same style of the masque (1994) material

Merci again
