He might have tried something too complex. Gertie will probably not learn too much.
No need to post about this just yet.

It can wait, because the card play would take several minutes.

Later, we can come back to this and address it, Steve.
Damien is willing to teach her to play cards. He just isn't off to a great start,

Do we know where Elissa lives? How many guards are her personal watch and any details about the palace?

Nope.

But Aldron has said he has schedules, maps, etc.

Ok then if everyone is ok with us accepting the task we can call Aldron and tell him we agree.

Have Adam and Varrus posted recently?

I'll give Varrus a little longer to catch up.
But assuming his PC is not leaving the party or refusing the task, then expect a big update soon.
(PS, if he does refuse or leave, no problem. It's not a railroad. )

If anybody has played there before, no problem. I'm modifying some stuff, and MODRON is almost plot free, anyway. It's a sourcebook, not an adventure module.

Aren't Mordrons some lawful neutral outsiders from mechanus that have weird shapes?

They are, but the Judge's Guild product predates those monsters.
It might be named after Modron the mother of Mabon the Enchanter, in Welsh tales.
That fits, given the importance in the city's history of a river goddess named MODRON, and the Welsh Modron being perhaps connected with the Lady of the Lake.

Now, bear in mind I'm not citing that as a scholarly source.

But my bet is that the JG guys derived their MODRON--River goddess connection from the same (older) sources that Mary Jones drew on.

Note on Roleplay, social class, politics, etiquette, etc:

Gertie's insistence that everybody is " the same" regardless of birth or rank is definitely not a mainstream or common opinion in this setting.
You should all expect most NPCs to regard these notions as eccentric, if not heretical, crazy, or seditious.
If it goes beyond some chatter and a spunky attitude and into the realm of blatant disrespect shown to important people, Gertie could wind up in trouble. So could her friends.

I don't foresee such trouble, but I'd like to note that public and violent tirades against the nobles, merchants, established government and laws would possibly be a crime. Disturbing the peace, inciting a riot, advocating treason...
Some of the magistrates who worship The Blind Judge might even mistakenly think she was a rabble rouser of the Flame of Anarchy.

I'm not writing this to discourage Steve from RP, but just as a general notice. It gives Steve some sense of the social and legal parameters.
And it gives the other PCs the same info.
As natives of the setting, though not the city, you have some basic background info of this sort.

POVERO social hierarchy

upper:
The Three Families and The Guildmasters
Magistrates and civic priests of rank
Other high officials and councillors

Middle:
Military officers (below the highest ranks, which are filled mainly by aristocrats)
Masters of the trades and crafts, including merchants in guilds
Petty officials
Shopkeepers, innkeepers

Lower:
Prentices and journeymen
Servants and guards
Laborers and Sailors
Beggars, harlots, and thieves

Lowest of the low: slaves
In POVERO, slavery is a punishment for crimes. But you won't often see slaves in the city. Off to the salt processing centers...

That is just a rough , simplified rundown. Don't assume it is always correct. But it should serve as a guide.

Notice she says it amongst themselves, not in public. This includes or will include her other opinions of which she hasn't spoken of yet, not even to her brother.
