Continuing the tradition of Ravenloft.

Post by GreenWood »

I have been using Ravenloft as my setting for almost 20 years now. I play with the 3.5 rules, my favorite edition so far. I have recently starting a campaign with my wife and my son. I think it's important to pass along an interest in gaming to others. My wife and son both love it! I notice there has not been as much activity on the site as of late. I want to encourage the Fraternity to continue the excellent work they have been doing. The continuation of the Doomsday Gazetteer is wonderful. Thank you for your work.

I'll second that praise!

And I think you're in luck, GreenWood, since new QuothTheRaven issues usually show up in October...

Indeed, we've been busy compiling Quoth the Raven #22, and haven't updated the main site recently, but have no fear, we're on track for our usual spooky release date of Halloween for QtR, and the message boards continue to be hopping, and there's been a lot of activity on Mistipedia as well. We're still going strong, and glad to have you here. Thanks for the compliments!

Fantastic! I have recently begun collecting back issues of Dungeon magazine with Ravenloft adventures in them. Playing the Baron's Eyrie now. If you haven't played it before, its a gem.

Really? That's excellent news. I plan on using it too, but it seemed like it needed some work. Glad to hear it's working well. Did you make any changes? (For one thing, I think I need to change the name of "El Aviador". I think my players will laugh in his face. I also had an idea of putting the whole place on a collision course with a nearby city when the Baron dies and the domain collapses (literally). Just not sure how to give the PCs any chance of saving the city.

An important distinction I think they've made is that the Fraternity of Shadow gazetteers are not the same as S' Doomsday Gazetteers. They are written in similar manners but not by the same people in character or for the exact same purposes.

The detail is what I love about them. It makes the whole game richer. I dismissed the Gazetteer's when I glanced over the first one initially. I have no idea why, they are now my best tools as a DM. The things we glance over...
