Some links point to the subsite TheMausoleum which does not work.

Similarly, the archived updates page has a few links throughout that link to the Mausoleum and are broken.

Somebody asked me for the link to my portrait of Azalin and the link was broken (although the portrait is still accessible in the Portrait Hall).

Potentially, it could be quite a bit of work to correct all the links in the update archive by hand, so I understand if it's beyond fixing at this point. But I just wanted to bring it up in case you had a quick fix for it.

You wound me, sir. "beyond fixing"? Never. Behold, the power of the vi editor. It's fixed.

(Because the links on the main page are usually relative links and not absolute, once they get moved to the update archive, which is in a different directory, that messes them up. If I forget to correct them, this is what happens.)

Interesting - so did you have to change them by hand, or did the editor automagically do that for you when instructed?

A little of column A and a little of column B. I changed them "by hand" but the editor makes it easy.

/href="[^\.]<enter> (search for a link that doesn't start with ".", since all the links on that page should start with "../")
wwi../<esc> (jump ahead two words (to the start of the text), insert the ../)
nww. (repeat search, jump two word, repeat action)
nww. (repeat on next link)
repeat last line until done.

I could've gotten fancy and created a macro, but there were only a dozen or so fixes to be made, so it wasn't worth it.

Nice. I'm working with a boutique law firm, and they have put me on webpage maintenance duty all next week. Their site is written in fairly basic HTML, and it's nothing fancy, but it does get the job done.

I'm still of the "Open with... > Notepad" old school crowd, so this should be interesting...

Nyah, nyah, I'm more old school than thou.

Notepad: 1st released in 1985
vi: 1st released in 1976

:)

Granted, I'm using a much more up to date version of vi. (vi improved: www.vim.org) But you're using a much more up to date version of Notepad too.

vi is not for the faint of heart. It's a real pain in the butt when you first learn it, but if you persevere, (or are forced to do so by a sadistic professor, like I was) you will be rewarded with a glorious and powerful tool (and come to realize that your professor wasn't sadistic, but knew the rewards that awaited you on the other side, and was only practicing tough love to get you there. Thanks, Prof. Hopkins!)

In the sense that Filet Mignon and Creme Brulee from a 5-star restaurant is just a meal, yes.
